Sunset at the Lake

"When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?"
~ Ralph Marston

The Gap, Watsons Bay, Sydney

I was in Sydney for my brother's 50th birthday in March, and we did a little exploring the day after his party.
We took the ferry from Manly to Watson's Bay on a beautiful sunny day

It's only a short walk from Watson's Bay ferry terminal through Robertson Park, across Military Road to the headland.

The Gap is a spectacular ocean cliff of the South Head peninsula in eastern Sydney, NSW.
These views were taken from the lower lookout...

The cliff is popular for sightseers but has unfortunately also become infamous for suicides.
The views are stunning! I only wish we had more time to walk around this area... We were on our way to another destination.

Next time I am in Sydney, I will take more time to explore the beauty of this area and more...

London Bridge, Mornington Peninsula National Park, VIC.

A spectacular area of the Mornington Peninsula is the London Bridge area.
The area is the most northern beach in the Mornington Peninsula National Park and borders Point Nepean National Park.
A lookout, only a short walk from the car park, provides stunning views of London Bridge, the beach and the rock platforms below. There are majestic views east towards Portsea and north-west towards Point Nepean National Park. Beach access is via a steep ramp.

A large rock platform provides for great snorkeling and exploring the rock pools at low tide. You can just see some of the rocks, which form the rock pools, at high tide below.

This famous land form is composed of sandstone and has been formed through weathering action of thousands of years of wind, rain and waves.

The large area of native coastal vegetation along the cliff tops provide habitat for large variety of birds and some of the park’s rarest mammals such as Long-nosed bandicoots and White-footed dunnarts.

The area is definitely worth a visit if you are on the Mornington Peninsula.

Serenity at the Lake

North Pine Dam, also known as Lake Samsonvale, is located north-west of Brisbane and is one of the 12 key water supply storages for South East Queensland.
The dam also provides a serene spot to enjoy a picnic, commune with nature and watch the sun set at the end of the day.

There are 1440 minutes in every day... 1440 opportunities to capture a moment of beauty.
What moment of beauty have you captured recently?
