Wild Bird Wednesday: Eastern Reef Egret

This was my third "lifer" from our day trip down to Burleigh Heads in July. The Eastern Reef  Egret has two phases; the grey phase & the white phase.

This particular bird looks a little the worst for wear...





I know it's a little blurry but I had to post the "catch of the day"...





Definitely looking quite shabby. But don't you just love the hair do in this last shot!!

    i've got days when i look a little ragged, too. :) i like that dark charcoal gray.

    Great captures Liz! I have never seen an egret this color. Thanks for sharing your wildlife shots. I think I learn something new each time I visit here ;)

    Yes, this bird does look like its had better days!

    But they are still good to look at even with some feathers out of place.
