Wild Bird Wednesday: Brown Honeyeater

I discovered this Brown Honeyeater (thanks for the ID, Mick) on one of our trips to a lovely man-made lake with lots of birdlife. It wasn't too impressed having it's photo taken and didn't stay for long. Sorry for the image quality.

    Beautiful, great photos.
A bird? is similar to the yellow flower.

  8. Hi Liz, nice photos but I don't think it's a Mangrove Honeyeater. It looks more like a Brown H to me but the streaks on the breast are not what I would expect unless maybe it's a young one?? Don't know. btw I was out at Inskip Point this morning and there are still NO big flocks of returning Godwits.

  10. See, this is where i start feeling envious - not only do you get the bird upon the lovely vibrant yellow grevillea, but you then get the bird's feathers perfectly MATCHING that grevillea. (sidenote: i'm just trying to impress with the term 'grevillea' instead of the category 'flower'. Chances are I've not only named wrong but most likely spelt it wrong too....)
