Wordless Wednesday: Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

On Saturday, we took a day trip up to Toowoomba (a 1.5 hour drive from Brisbane). As we neared the base of the mountain, traffic came to a standstill and it was clear that this drive was going to take MUCH more than 1.5 hours so I checked Google maps on my iPhone for an alternate route (many others followed us). Not long after we pulled off the highway, we were greeted by this view...

Some friends who also took the trip said it took well over 3 hours. Our detour resulted in a 2 hour drive :)

Now for the the real reason we went... and these don't need any words at all.

  1. glad you got there; I've often heard about Toowoomba over the years and seen gardening shows featuring it. I'm sure your camera hardly left your eye; so much to see in one hit isn't there ..similar no doubt to Floriade/Canberra
