"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

Wild Bird Wednesday: Great Crested Grebe
While out at Lake Samsonvale a couple of weeks ago, I spied a bird I have never seen before; a Great Crested Grebe. I was just a little excited.
These shots are heavily cropped due to this bird being rather elusive! Make sure you enlarge the images so you can see them better
hij is mooi maar wel heel eenzaam.
ReplyDeleteI love the grebes, they're beautiful birds.
ReplyDeletelucky for you to see him!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I see why they're so named.
ReplyDeleteA truly magnificent creature, Liz!
ReplyDeleteYes, how exciting Liz - love the crest. I've never seen one like that before either :D)
ReplyDeleteThe Crested Grebe is beautiful, great sighting and photos.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy seeing the crested grebe. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a fantastic bird there, Liz! Clear, sharp and well-lit for an undoubtedly distant bird!
ReplyDeleteLake Samsonvale is a great spot for this species but I also saw one on Lake Somerset in February. They only ever seem to live on big open waters.
