Sunrise at Shorncliffe

A couple of months ago, I went on a sunrise shoot with a photography group I am a member of. It was the last couple of days of summer so sunrise is a much later (around 5:15am). When we got up at 4am the sky was very overcast and it would have been very easy to go back to bed as we had a 40 min drive to the location. As we drove, I was hoping the sky would clear a bit but with no wind at all, there wasn't much hope.
So an overcast sunrise it was! It was very subdued but I rather like it.

Unfortunately Shorncliffe Pier is closed due to being very unstable, so I wasn't able to get "down the pier" shots. Thankfully this wonderful piece of history is going to be refurbished over the next 2 years.

  7. Great shots of this long, long jetty that fairly makes my fingers itch to fish there.

  8. Love these and so happy to hear the jetty is to be refurbished. I have wonderful childhood memories of this place and remember when there was a 'penny arcade' on it.
