The Somerset Region

While I have been unable to get out much since my surgery, it has given me a great opportunity to go through my archives and clean out my images.

These shots are from a trip out into South East Queensland's Somerset Region in late 2012 taken on my Canon 1100D. I can't believe I missed editing and posting these shots.
It was a beautiful Spring day; blue skies, sunshine and relatively hot temperatures. However, the area is so picturesque that the constant stopping to get of the air conditioned car for a shot was definitely worth it.

I was drawn to this tree lined driveway while driving along Brisbane Valley Highway..

A quick stop at Cormorant Bay on Wivenhoe Dam, near Fernvale, for lunch. Located 80km from the Brisbane CBD, Wivenhoe Dam is South East Queensland’s largest water storage and is the main supply of water for Brisbane and the greater Ipswich area. It is also a very popular recreation destination; including toilets, BBQs, picnic tables, shelters and a playground.

A little further down Brisbane Valley Highway is the Hay Road turn off, which leads to the Logan Complex. The facilities here include BBQs, toilets, picnic tables & shelters, a playground and two camping areas.

Back on the Brisbane Valley Highway, heading towards the town of Esk...

It was a fabulous day out!
