Michael's "rostered days off" often involve a day trip somewhere around south east Queensland or across the Queensland/New South Wales border to a location in northern NSW. The border is only an hour from our home in Brisbane.
A few weeks ago, after a lazy morning, we decided to visit Lennox Head in northern NSW for sunset. We had only ever been to Lennox Head once, on the way down to Port Macquarie last year. Lake Ainsworth was the chosen spot at Lennox, and it is directly across the road from 7 Mile Beach. I had seen some lovely sunsets from there and I was in desperate need of a little inspiration.
When we arrived, the sun was low in the sky. I had a quick walk around the picnic area of Lake Ainsworth.
Just across the road (about 20m) from Lake Ainsworth, is 7 Mile Beach where I took a few shots of the reverse sunset. The reflections were wonderful. That's Lennox Head in the distance.
It was a beautiful afternoon. I'm grateful for Winter days like this... We really are blessed living where we do!
There are 1440 minutes in every day... 1440 opportunities to capture a moment of beauty.
What moment of beauty did you capture this week?

Holidaying in Northern NSW: Part 1
My parents recently gifted us a week away to a place of our choosing within driving distance from Brisbane. I absolutely love coastal beaches & rocky headlands. Our recent day trips to the Tweed Coast of northern NSW made me want to explore more of the NSW coastline, so I chose Port Macquarie on the mid north coast.
The drive to Port Macquarie from our home in Brisbane is around 600km. Due to developing a DVT after my knee surgery 6 weeks ago, I was required to take hourly stops (about every 100km) to walk around. We decided to stop at some towns we hadn't visited yet.
Before we left the state, we had to vote in the Government elections. Then we were off on our adventure. First stop was Tweed Heads, but only for fuel & a morning tea break.
The next stop was Lennox Head, a seaside village in northern NSW, situated on the stretch of coast between Byron Bay & Ballina.
Looking north along 7 mile beach.
The beach is a popular spot for kite surfers... and windsurfers.
Pat Morton lookout, on the headland, is a popular spot for hangliders, launching themselves off the 65m cliff.
Looking south from the top of the headland.
Looking north from the top of the headland.
More from our holiday to come...
