Wild Bird Wednesday: Silver Gull

I'm a bird lover... So much so, that I could be accused of being a little obsessed with one of the least liked birds. They are considered a pest on the beach, and a "chip thief" by those who love fish & chips by the sea.

I am of course talking about the Silver Gull, better known as the Seagull.

I don't know what it is about them, but I just love their cheeky characters and funny antics!

Leading Lines in the Scenic Rim

If we aren't exploring the coastline, my husband and I head out west to explore the rural areas around us.
This particular day, we headed out to the Scenic Rim area of south east Queensland.

"The Scenic Rim region is a thriving rural paradise set in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by world heritage listed national parks. Home to a population of more than 37,780, the region covers 4248sq km and is located an hour south of Brisbane and an hour inland from the Gold Coast. Stormy Skies at Snapper

These shots were taken early last year during our traditional storm season.

After enjoying a beautiful day on the beach, we headed to one of our favourite spots for sunset when a storm rolled in from the west.

The temporary buildings for the Quiksilver Pro surfing competition were still on Snapper Rocks Beach.

Around the corner at Froggies Beach, we were treated with a double rainbow.

It wasn't long before the skies became very dark and the rain started to fall heavily. I grabbed my camera and tripod and ran to the car.

Beaches of the Mornington Peninsula: Sorrento Beach

Sorrento is one of my favourite beach-side suburbs on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula! I have wonderful memories from my childhood here and on a neighbouring beach. These images were taken in January this year, during Summer.

The Queenscliff-Sorrento Ferry comes in to dock at the new pier...

The historical Sorrento Jetty is a favourite photography subject of mine...

The beach on Port Phillip Bay is a lovely place for families to spend warm Summer days.
