I love the way macro photography allows the viewer to see the tiny intricate details in the smaller and simpler things in life...

Friday's Fences and a Barn in the Scenic Rim
I really love finding gems like this while out on our drives through the mountains...
The poor old barn looks like it's seen better days! I wonder if it would still be standing if not for the old steel shed it's leaning on...

Wild Bird Wednesday: Fairy-wrens
Last week was an awesome week for lifers and in the most unexpected places. This post I will share the first 2, as they came from the same little reserve.
This male Red-backed Fairy-wren wasn't cooperating, hiding & flitting about at a great rate.
Finally, after around 10 shots, I managed a relatively clear one...
The next little gem; a male Variegated Fairy-wren, proved equally as quick and determined not to give me a clear shot. With him hiding amongst the branches, my camera struggled to focus clearly with all the movement..
Almost got him, but not quite! Some long grass just masking him a little...
But again, finally I managed a relatively clear shot...
Aren't they just gorgeous!! I have now ticked 3 Fairy-wrens off my list.

Fabulous Friday's Fences
On our drives out west, we do a lot of this...
So I can take shots like this...
Mountains, fences, gates...
And little sheds (or barns)...
Fences with a view!!

Project 366 Rewind {Week 42 & 43}
Still trying to catch up on my Project 366 Rewind. I was almost there and then another week sneaks by... sigh...
Day 288 (Oct 14) - Knee deep... Juvenile Silver Gull at sunset.
Day 289 (Oct 15) - Wellington Point sunset. I was hoping for clouds to catch the colour but the wind blew them all away, so I decided on a long exposure to create a glassy effect on the water...
Day 290 (Oct 16) - Bulimba Ferry Terminal. Built in 1922. It is one of a pair of Federation Queen Anne ferry terminals built in the early 1920s to service Brisbane ferries. It is Queensland Heritage registered.
Day 291 (Oct 17) - Brisbane River through the Jacaranda.
Day 292 (Oct 18) - Anzac Square War Memorial in Brisbane City.
Day 293 (Oct 19) - This Pale-headed Rosella visited our backyard again to feast on the seed pods on our Grevillea. I love how they hold the seeds in their claws...
Day 294 (Oct 20) - Jacaranda in Lockyer Valley, QLD.
Day 295 (Oct 21) - Table Top Mountain viewed from Picnic Point, Toowoomba.
Day 296 (Oct 22) - A little Lockyear Valley Barn Charm.
Day 297 (Oct 23) - I am Australian!!
Day 298 (Oct 24) - Dragonfly on a Lilypad.
Day 299 (Oct 25) - Australasian Grebe family.
Day 300 (Oct 26) - White-eyed Duck (Also known as Hardhead or Copperhead).
Day 301 (Oct 27) - Surf sailboarder at Elephant Rock, Currumbin, QLD.
