World Bird Wednesday: Crested Tern

On our visit to Burleigh Heads last week, I came across 3 new "lifers" while I was climbing around on the rocks. This week I am sharing the Crested Tern.

Awesome pictures, Liz! And all these taken so clearly without an extra big lens ... it was great that you were able to get so close to the tern :)

Great photos again. Thanks for your comments. I would also appreciate a dinner and talk together. Who knows, maybe we will ever have an opportunity. Until now, I have met two people from my blogrol and even had dinner with ine. But they live a lot closer :-)

Greetings,
Filip

Great photos of the Crested Terns. They are interesting birds to watch - especially when they return with juveniles and wow are they noisy then!

This is a wonderful series, Liz.
I especially love the third one, with that sweet little foot raised.

Liz, these are all so marvellously clear. Your fourth and last capture are my favourite. I'm hoping you'll be slightly proud that I just took my first ever photo of a kookaburra - it was high up in the front yard tree and I suspect when I download it it will look like a brown speck but at least I managed to shoot one!

Hi there - I always like photographing Crested Terns - I think they are one of our most cooperative species! Which new species did you get?

I thought I’d let you know that I stepped into the void caused by Springmans decision to close down World Bird Wednesday by setting up Wild Bird Wednesday (!) on my photoblog at Paying Ready Attention – Photo Gallery.

Feel free to visit and link.
