I discovered this Brown Honeyeater (thanks for the ID, Mick) on one of our trips to a lovely man-made lake with lots of birdlife. It wasn't too impressed having it's photo taken and didn't stay for long. Sorry for the image quality.

love the curved bill and how his feathers blend with the blooms. :)
wat mooi met de bloemen als ondergrond .het geeft net meer sfeer.
That's a fantastic looking bird. Lucky you being able to have them around.
Liz!
Beautiful, great photos.
A bird? is similar to the yellow flower.
oh it's a beauty Liz (and I love the yellow grevillea too). I'd not heard of this honey-eater before.
Impresionantes imagenes!! Me encanta el colorido del ave, es igual que el de la planta. Preciosos.
Un abrazo Liz
the colour combination is just lovely! good catch!
Hi Liz, nice photos but I don't think it's a Mangrove Honeyeater. It looks more like a Brown H to me but the streaks on the breast are not what I would expect unless maybe it's a young one?? Don't know. btw I was out at Inskip Point this morning and there are still NO big flocks of returning Godwits.
I love how his yellow feathers match the yellow blooms.
See, this is where i start feeling envious - not only do you get the bird upon the lovely vibrant yellow grevillea, but you then get the bird's feathers perfectly MATCHING that grevillea. (sidenote: i'm just trying to impress with the term 'grevillea' instead of the category 'flower'. Chances are I've not only named wrong but most likely spelt it wrong too....)
A lovely series and maybe it is me but I cannot see anything wrong with the quality.
Lovely Bird - very well captured with some nice lighting
The little bird is so pretty, wonderful pictures ....
Best regards, Karin
