Next after these beaches are Currumbin Beach and Currumbin Alley.
Currumbin Beach is the stretch between Elephant Rock (southern end, which has a great lookout on top) and Currumbin Rock (northern end).
From the top of Elephant Rock, there are great views in all directions. Below the rock is Currumbin Surf Lifesaving Club.
The rocks below Elephant Rock are also a popular fishing spot.
Looking north from Elephant Rock Lookout, you can see Currumbin Rock with the city skyline of Surfers Paradise. This particular day was a bit stormy...
Looking towards Currumbin Rock on a much finer day... When the wind is just right, this spot is a haven for kite surfers.
Looking back from Currumbin Rock towards Currumbin Surf Lifesaving club and Elephant Rock
Such a beautiful day...
Looking through the rocks at Currumbin Rock towards Surfers Paradise city skyline.
Currumbin Alley is a surf break off Currumbin Rock. The Alley is one of the more famous breaks on the Gold Coast. Waves wrap around the point and towards the creek. It is exposed to perfect beginners conditions towards the creek and some fantastic right-handers towards the point.
Popular also for the recent craze; Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
City to surf...

geweldig wat mooi de zonsondergangen zijn ook groots.
Oh wow Liz, outstanding shots! The sunset is amazing!
It is always such a pleasure to visit you here, Liz.
You photographs are so beautiful.
Ahh, Liz, I have such memories of every beach along the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. At Currumbin I saw Midge Farrelly (our world champion surfer) riding a wave and thought "I want to do that!" and then pestered every surfer I knew until one agreed to teach me. I wonder why I never noticed how beautiful those beaches are? I only noticed the waves!
Just gorgeous! I love the second shot and the sunset!
Your last three shots are just stunning Liz! I would love to go out shooting landscapes and some of those amazing sunsets with you sometime. Maybe someday I'll get down to your part of the world to do that!
Great photos of all the Gold Coast beaches with the city buildings in the background. Ours up this way are not so well known - but they certainly have far fewer people!!
Such lovely shots.
Difficult to choose a favourite as they are all so good.
Hello Liz,
Firstly, I cannot thank you enough for the time you take to comment on my blog - you are completely generous each time you reply. Thank you.
In regards to this post, you have performed your usual duty in terms of quality, especially with the last few sunset shots. I'm so not good at this type of thing and would love to stand beside you to learn from your tips as the sun goes down. I really like the daytime shot of the parasailor/glider with how you've captured it in the centre of the gold coast buildings skyline and the surf. In commenting on your Mon 7th April post, so much to say..... love the reflection of the white on the sand/water from the white gold coast apartment building, am so impressed with the lines and shadows of lines with the Kirra Hut capture (no. 8) and while all the last few shots are so, so good, shot no 11 just grabs my attention whole heartedly. Hope you are going ok, Renee.
...it's really special moments when you can stay around long enough to watch the sun setting like you do. These are super-special ones you captured here Liz
The gold drew me in and was like a climax of the series but the surfing kept me looking. All stunning. My son is in Tasmania right now.
my goodness! the blues of the day were beautiful, but those last few...
Wow! One gorgeous photo after another. That awesome skyline in the background looks surreal. The sunset photos are AMAZING!

They're all very pretty, but the sunset shots are breathtaking. Seems like a magical place to spend the day.
