"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
~ Elliot Erwitt
Sweet horse! I just want to nuzzle him (or her). Those pictures also made me feel as though I could sit on that fence for an afternoon and watch the day go by (unless it was electric - of course).
You've certainly captured all the elements of the lovely weather on that day - everything looks so crisp and bright. Your third photo is my absolute favourite.
Liz, the photos are great. So is the series you created with them. I love the way you have told a story in your sequencing of the pictures. You really bring the viewer with you on your walk.
Thanks to Stewart M I now know what the black and white passerine is. The Willie Wagtail is not a bird we have in the UK or (nearer to you) New Zealand and I was puzzled for a while. I always enjoy your fence photos and the addition of the photographers' dream sky is a bonus.
What a grand day you had out with your camera--big skies, birds that I haven't seen before--especially liked the tiny white one lifting off from the boggy area.
Can you tell me why your horses wear those coverings? A few years ago I visited New Zealand and this was common. Vaguely remember something about too much rain and their coats almost "molding". Is that possible?
Beautiful birds, impressive horses, and gorgeous landscapes make for a great way to start my day. Love the jackets on the horses. These are such clear and sharp captures. Very nice. genie

Great pictures you show. Wishing you a good weekend :) Hanne Bente / hbt.finus.dk
Nice set of pictures - I think that the Wille Wagtails must be one of the grumpiest looking birds in the world once they flare their eyebrows!

Sorry, back again... I just went over to the shoot.edit.submit site and saw a certain clever close up of a duck! Congratulations, that's fantastic.

Great photos Liz. My favorite is the very first one. Love that sky and the bridge over the water.
I love the contrast between the clean lines of the fence and the softness of the clouds! Fabulous!!
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Even though your subject is fences, I just can't tear my eyes away from those big, billowy clouds!
