Friday's Fences: More Rural inspiration

This weeks photography expeditions have involved a LOT of driving (on my husband's part) on his 2 days off. He has been working weekends the last 2 weeks so has 2 weekdays rostered off.

The first day involved driving to a rural area south of Brisbane called Mt Cotton. Mt Cotton was originally settled in the 1870's by farm selectors, many of German origin. Originally the farmers grew maize and other crops and later turned to citrus orchards. In the 1960's, the area diversified into dairy, fruit and vegetable farming. Here are just a few fences in the area...

And this one from the Carbrook area which is a little further down the road.

I wouldn't like to be coming up too close to those barbed wires!

The last one is my favourite. Lovely to be in the city yet able to take some drives to enjoy the local rural settings too.
