Self Belief

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” - E. E. Cummings

My prayer is that one day she will believe in herself...

Why not venture over to her blog at Through the Lens and give her some well deserved encouragement. She has a great gift in photography & writing.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

Great picture. Believing in yourself is always difficult. As an example, tomorrow we have a dance competition with a panel of adjudicators which is not really our style and preference. So most likely we will not score. We could say that we don't believe in ourselves to get into the second round. But we just give ourselves an other goal. We go for good dancing, having fun, training, and working on stress, physical condition. We don't care about the result of the competition. We don't need to believe in the result anymore, we have an other goal.

Greetings,
Filip

Hi Liz,
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

You said you were a beginner? Judging by the photos on your blog it doesn't appear that this is so.

You are off to a great start!

Beautiful photo of your daughter. That one is frame worthy!

Matching your quote with the photo of your daughter makes it even more powerful, on top of the power each has separately. You must wish so much you could wrap those words up in velvet and hand them to that very special person, and get her to consume them, like a medicine. Wouldn't it be wonderful if true quotes like this could have that effect.
