As mentioned in my post for World Bird Wednesday, our stop off at a small lake in the Redlands area resulted in some wonderful surprises. Not one or two dragonflies, but an abundance of them and numerous species too.
This is the Graphic Flutterer. The images aren't as sharp as I would like but this one wasn't as keen to sit and pose for long.
Meet the Wandering Percher. A little more compliant for photographs.
It took a quite while to capture this next one - the Blue Skimmer.
And finally, the Australian Tiger - apparently very territorial but only with their own species.
I am still amazed at how many different dragonflies we encountered. The only editing done was cropping and very minor clarity & contrast adjustments. I was extremely happy with most images SOOC.
