Reflecting

There is nothing more serene than sitting by the lake, watching the sunset behind the mountains.

The sky takes on graduated shades of yellows, oranges, purples and blues,

And the lake mirrors those colours.

As the yellow fades, the orange, purple and blue deepens.

Gradually darkness falls, and I am grateful for the opportunity to witness the wonder of another sunset.

I am blessed indeed.

"Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Skywatch Friday: A Rural Sunset

"Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude." ~ Denis Waitley

Out in rural Cedar Grove (2012), surrounded by green pastures, grazing cattle and distant mountain ranges. The golden sun setting, amongst a sea of clouds catching colour... It was a beautiful, serene sunset. And in that moment I was aware, that this day like every other day, was a gift to be cherished...

I am grateful for this day!

Rural Skies

I love some of the rural areas of Brisbane and surrounds. While doing an image clean up, I discovered some old images from 2012.

Cedar Grove is basically on the border of Logan Shire and the Scenic Rim... The mountains in the background are part of the mountain range known as the Scenic Rim. This area is rich in farming and beautiful landscapes. It is probably one of my favourite areas, other than the beach.

I love lone trees!

The cloud formations in the sky were fabulous!

Rural Skies

I love exploring the rural areas of Brisbane, South-east Queensland and Northern NSW.

This particular day, we headed out to a rural area in the northern Gold Coast area called Alberton, known for it's many Sugar Cane farms. It was a perfect day - the sky was blue and filled with wispy clouds...

These aren't hay bales, but sugar cane mulch. I absolutely love the mountain backdrop when looking west in this area.

Alberton Barn Charm

This is my favourite rural Brisbane barn. I discovered it earlier this year and a few weeks ago, we went on a rural drive. I just had to take some more shots!

Barn Charm: TLC required

Driving in rural Brisbane, a couple of months ago, I noticed this old barn on a property. It's sadly in need of some TLC, but I doubt it will get it.

Rural Fences & Skies

Beautiful day, blue skies, fluffy cloud & sunshine...

And what's over the fence, you ask?
