I was recently made aware of a revolutionary new compact camera, the Light L16 Camera, which "uses multiple lens systems to shoot photos at the same time, then computationally fuses them into a DSLR-quality image".
I must admit, I am intrigued by this idea and would love to get my hands on one to try it out and see how it performs.
When I heard about Light.co's #VantagePoint project, I immediately knew I wanted to participate, and share a favourite DSLR shot of my own with the story & settings behind the shot.
While I could have shared many images from my recent 2015 trip to Alaska, which I have previously blogged about, I decided to share an image from my home city as it encapsulates my absolute love of capturing the light and reflections of blue hour.
Living in Brisbane, also known as the "River City", we are spoiled with so many beautiful views of the city reflected on the Brisbane River which snakes around two sides of the CBD.
This particular vantage point (in the shot below) is one of my favourite spots for shooting long exposure shots of our city at night. I love the light & colours of the city skyline reflected off the water.
Camera Settings:
Aperture: f/11
ISO 100,
Exposure: 89 sec
Focal length: 17mm

Stunning colour reflections. Brisbane has certainly become a wonderful city to live near.
I love your night shots, Liz. This is no exception. It's beautiful <3
Wow! I love this amazing photograph. It belongs on a wall...
beautiful capture!you're lucky to be able to live near water and be able to shoot such pictures!
Ooh, those reflections *are* nice... Hmm, might have to try that sometime in Portland, OR. For me, one of my favorite shoots was actually with a Meetup group that I later got kicked out of for no good reason. On this particular day we all just kind of met up and roamed around. Right around dusk, we hiked up to the top of a parking garage and set up our tripods and took some shots of the city / street, etc. Came out great... Did get briefly hassled by security, but they were cool. We were just like, "we're just taking some pictures, we'll be gone in a minute."
