This or That Thursday: St Mary's on the Cliffs

High above the cliffs at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane, is a beautiful historic stone church nestled among the trees.

St Mary's Anglican Church was built in 1873.

Rural Thursday: Boonah Region

I love our drives in the country. I love the contrasts of blue skies, mountains, green trees and green (or brown) pastures.
This day trip was in the Boonah Region which is in the heart of SE Queensland's "Scenic Rim". The surrounding mountains are spectacular. More on this in future posts...

Simplicity, beauty, serenity...

Wild Bird Wednesday: Pale-headed Rosella

We have new visitors in our back yard Grevillea. A pair of Pale-headed Rosellas. I've been wanting to capture these birds for a while as I came across one on a recent trip out west but I couldn't get close enough.
Thanks to my 20 year old daughter who noticed these Rosella in our yard, I was able to get my camera, change lenses to the "stalker lens" and capture a few shots...

They sensed me watching and moved to a more protected part of the tree, still keeping an eye on me...

Later in the afternoon, they came back to the tree and I was able to capture the entire bird. They are beautiful and quite colourful.

Wild Bird Wednesday: White-faced Heron

While out at Wivenhoe Dam a few weeks ago, I came across this White-faced Heron.

Looks like he spied some food...

Gotcha!!
