"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
~ Elliot Erwitt
Great shots! I love the pelikans. I saw a lot of them in Cairns! I could also see a lot of the green "parrot" in the parks, like the one in your post under this.
Great photos of Lake Wivenhoe and especially the pelican. I've been catching up on your posts that I have not read. Don't know how I missed them :-( I hope your moving is all sorted out and especially the internet problems. Lovely seeing all those Rainbow Lorikeets and the Blue-faced Honeyeater. Both of those are regulars in my yard.
Oh lovely! Great peli shot! I don't think Watery Wednesday is up and running any more. A new Water Meme has started here. http://www.kissess4u.com/2012/04/water-world-wednesday.html
enjoy your photos Liz; the skies are beautiful aren't they? Hadn't realized I wasn't following your blog; I catch up from time to time via memes ...will be a regular visitor now!
The lake is well worth the trip! You have some exquisite bird shots here! The blossom you asked about is a pink dogwood before it was fully open. I will have more of the dogwood in a few days.
Very peaceful location, and some lovely shots. Hopefully next time we will find more birds - and maybe see the young ones from the nests of the Whstling Kites.
