Do you ever have those days...

Do you ever have those days, when you are just completely unsure of where your headed....

or how long the road may be....

or what the future holds...

Today is one of those days for me.

I guess it's mainly because I miss my prodigal son. This Mother's Day will be the fifth in a row that Daniel has been out of our lives. On the one day each year when we celebrate the gift of mothers, my family will again be one child short. I know I will be surrounded by my other 3 children (and my son-in-law), and showered in endless love, but a piece of my heart will be missing. Because Mother's Day for me is about celebrating the gift of my children... the 4 precious gifts I have been given to do life with.

Thanks for bearing with me...

My heart aches for you, I'm so sorry! I know it's not much, but from one mother to another I'm sending you a hug!

I have a prodigal brother (now in his 50s) and see my mother's pain in your post. To everyones surprise he attended my dad's funeral and I managed to get my arms around him (while he stood wooden and remote) and tell him we loved him. He whispered, "I know." So I say just go on loving your son, he will know. Enjoy the love you receive from the rest of your family.

I'm sorry and totally understand your pain. We have four daughters and one son. No one in our family has heard from or seen our son for over two years.
We haven't the slightest clue why... It might have had something to do with him being the youngest, but who knows. I hope that one day, he is drawn back to us.
Fantastic photos!
